Retreat Preparation

Well, the leaders have been prayed about, discussed, and asked.  They have accepted the requests, and the planning is underway for the 8th installment of the Jesus Revolution Retreat.  This one will be at Camp Turner -- the 3rd time Camp Turner has hosted us for a Jesus Revolution.

The leaders for this retreat are Brian, Kyle, John, Olivia, Pat, Erin, Katie, Julia and Olya.  It has turned out to be an interesting group of retreat leaders, but I think the diversity mixed with the experience will lead to a great weekend.

The goal of the weekend, of course, is to lead teens closer to Christ.  That doesn't mean we can't have some fun along the way, and we have some surprises to throw at the kids during the weekend.  There is a "secret outdoor activity" Friday evening, and there is something else that will definitely leave people buzzing and laughing for a long time -- but it will also have a lating lesson.

This spring retreat is always a highlight of the year for us -- it brings us closer as a community, we come away with all sorts of goofy inside jokes, and we all grow closer to Christ.  But while the retreats are great, what needs to happen is for them to be lived out once we return home, and that's much harder to do when we're not with everyone else on retreat.  I hope that this retreat can last far beyond the three days we are away together.

Continuing our preparation for the retreat, we need serious prayers.  The teen retreat leaders, the adults leaders, me (I'm not sure I'm an adult), the cooks, and most of all those teens who are coming as retreatants, ready to learn and soak up everything.  Help us all to learn that when we are weak, we allow God to be strong and to do more with us than we ever imagined!
