Vacation Bible School @ Nativity needs you!
Submitted by Joe on Wed, 07/02/2008 - 4:14pm.Hey all -- just a quick note for you to see... traditionally, Life Teen has been asked to help supply some volunteers for Nativity's annual Vacation Bible School, and this year is no different. Here's a quick message from Mrs. Smith:
Social Web Clutter
Submitted by Patrick on Thu, 06/19/2008 - 10:35am.Okay, so I realize that this is kinda off topic for the Life Teen blog, but Joe keeps telling me about Facebook and it's role in the everyday life of a teenager. I haven't taken the plunge on Facebook or MySpace, but do I remember being a teenager. I even remember emailing and instant messaging quite a bit, so I'm not surprised that the "social web" has offered something even more attractive for teens now. I also remember talking on a phone, with a cord... you know the kind you only see in pictures.
What is this Life Teen Convention thing?
Submitted by Joe on Fri, 06/13/2008 - 3:59pm.So, this past Sunday through Wednesday, myself and Adam, Mallory and Molly were in Carefree, Arizona. We were not exactly free of cares, though to be honest, it was a relaxing time. What were we doing in this resort place in the hot brownish-redish state? We were at a Life Teen Convention, joined by about 450 youth ministers and Core members from around the country, and the absolutely fantastic Life Teen International Staff.
Retreat Preparation
Submitted by Joe on Wed, 03/12/2008 - 7:05pm.Well, the leaders have been prayed about, discussed, and asked. They have accepted the requests, and the planning is underway for the 8th installment of the Jesus Revolution Retreat. This one will be at Camp Turner -- the 3rd time Camp Turner has hosted us for a Jesus Revolution.
The leaders for this retreat are Brian, Kyle, John, Olivia, Pat, Erin, Katie, Julia and Olya. It has turned out to be an interesting group of retreat leaders, but I think the diversity mixed with the experience will lead to a great weekend.
Reconcile
Submitted by Joe on Thu, 03/06/2008 - 3:23am.Reconciliation is a hugely misunderstood Sacrament. Say wha? Yup, I believe that most of us are focusing on the wrong thing when we think about the cool Sacrament of Reconciliation.
See, when most people talk about Reconciliation, they say something like "I don't want to go sit in a little room and tell some guy all the stuff I've done wrong. What will he think of me? I can just sit in my room and tell God myself." Oh really?
